I have a boatload of work to do on the damned day job (filthy lucre!!!) and I have 23 people coming for Christmas Eve (which wouldn’t actually mean much unless you saw my house) and Tax Deduction #1 is home on Christmas break (yay) and I want to spend some time reading and writing (and possibly sewing). I’ll be back Saturday or Sunday or thereabouts. Thought I’d leave you with a pic of what a friend called my “dreidel tree,” which lives in my office in November and December.
Very nice tree.
Have a wonderful holiday!
Whatcha sewing? I’ve been sewing PJs for the hachlings. And I wanted to do napkins, and pretty ruffled pillowcases but there’s no TIME.
Thanks, Jessica. Happy Hanukkah to you!
Eva…just finishing up some needlework I did last year. You know, the kind of stuff that never gets framed or made into…anything. Just stuffed in the back of a closet for later.
A couple of years ago I bought a bona fide circa 1965 aluminum tree and a color wheel off eBay.
Unfortunately, it had come from a smoker’s home and the branches stunk to high heaven. I sold it (for a profit, naturally).
I love it! I grew up with an aluminum tree with blue ornaments and finally broke down and bought one along with a color wheel last year. I didn’t put up a tree this year, but I’m pretty sure the silver one will make another appearance next Christmas.
Dude prefers living trees, but didn’t have the time and energy to go get one.
Hey, your RSS feed suddenly disgorged 10 new posts! I mean, I’d already read them so they were not new but gently used, but still, yay for feeds feeding feedily. Long may it continue.
Gently used posts. Heh.
That happens to feeds I subscribe to sometimes, but it’s always different ones. I can’t figure out what makes it do that or what turns it back on.
