Cross Stitch
I do not generally “finish” my projects as pillows, ornaments, framed works, or display them. I have a treasure box I store them in. I fold them up in acid-free tissue and keep them there, guarding them and looking at them like a dragon guards and counts his gold. For me, it is about the process and the finish line, not the “finish” and displaying. I also design cross stitch patterns and sell them on Etsy.
Chiefs afghan
I made this because I wanted to figure out how to do an entrelac pattern of Tunisian stitch, which is my favorite. My favorite colors are red and yellow or yellow and red, depending on the day. It took me a minute to get the rhythm of it, and I made a lot of mistakes, but once I got started, I couldn’t stop, so this thing is huge, it’s heavy, and it now belongs to my husband because … It so happens that red and yellow are also the Kansas City Chiefs colors, and my husband is a rabid Chiefs fan (I’m just a fair-weather fan), so he insisted it was a Chiefs afghan. It is not, but I decided to play like it is. This is the last thing I finished. I started a different crochet project (not Tunisian), but got tired of it, so it’s in my closet.
Miscellaneous
Drawing
I took art classes at the local juco, fall 2021 semester. I had “design foundations” and “drawing 1,” where I was just picking up where I left off in 1986, senior year in high school art. Then life happened and I never got back to it.
