Obviously, one reason I like her is she reviews self-published books. The other is she\u2019s a hoot.<\/p>\n<p>I don\u2019t read a fraction as much as she does, I\u2019m not nearly as adventurous as she is, and I certainly don\u2019t have the gift for reviewing that she does, but I trust her reviews.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>So my latest purchases, based on her recommendation (and I buy self-pub when something catches my eye), were:<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.amazon.com\/Married-Rock-Star-Road-Paradise-Anniversary\/dp\/1438244258\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Married to a Rock Star<\/a> by Tami Parrington (see <a href=\"https:\/\/web.archive.org\/web\/20081121054556\/http:\/\/www.mrsgiggles.com\/pod\/parrington_married.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">the review<\/a>)<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.amazon.com\/Dead-Women-Walking-Julie-Dawson\/dp\/1847289061\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Dead Men (and Woman) Walking<\/a> edited by Julie Ann Dawson (see <a href=\"https:\/\/web.archive.org\/web\/20081220014043\/http:\/\/www.mrsgiggles.com\/pod\/anthology_walking.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">the review<\/a>)<\/p>\n<p>I\u2019ll report back, but my TBR pile gets higher and higher. I may have to get another memory card for my reader or offload some of my bookshelf. It\u2019s gettin\u2019 a squeeze in there.<\/p>\n<p>And oh, on my library hold list now:<\/p>\n<ul class=\"post\">\n<li class=\"none\"><em>Natural Born Charmer<\/em> by Susan Elizabeth Phillips<sup class='footnote' id='fnref-62-1'><a href='#fn-62-1' rel='footnote'>1<\/a><\/sup><\/li>\n<li class=\"none\"><em>A Confederacy of Dunces<\/em> by John Kennedy Toole<\/li>\n<li class=\"none\"><em>Zodiac: The Eco-Thriller<\/em> by Neal Stephenson<\/li>\n<li class=\"none\"><em>Trust Me<\/em> by Brenda Novak<sup class='footnote' id='fnref-62-2'><a href='#fn-62-2' rel='footnote'>2<\/a><\/sup><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<div class=\"footnotes\">\n<p>______________________________<\/p>\n<p class=\"footnote\"><span class='footnote' id='fn-62-1'><a href='#fnref-62-1'>1<\/a>.<\/span>&nbsp;&nbsp;<a href=\"http:\/\/www.susanelizabethphillips.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Susan Elizabeth Phillips<\/a> is my favorite contemporary romance author. In one of her books (can\u2019t remember which), she described the secondary hero in such a way as to make me visualize <a href=\"https:\/\/www.imdb.com\/name\/nm0000169\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Tommy Lee Jones<\/a> who, well, oh, hold me down I love that man! That said, I only have one SEP on my keeper shelf at that\u2019s <em><a href=\"http:\/\/www.amazon.com\/Kiss-Angel-Susan-Elizabeth-Phillips\/dp\/0380782332\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Kiss an Angel<\/a><\/em> aka &#8220;The Circus Book&#8221; with the original cover.<\/p>\n<p class=\"footnote\"><span class='footnote' id='fn-62-2'><a href='#fnref-62-2'>2<\/a>.<\/span>&nbsp;&nbsp;Never read <a href=\"https:\/\/brendanovak.com\/bookshelf\/\">Brenda Novak<\/a> because for the most part, I don\u2019t care for romantic suspense. But I found out a while ago, she\u2019s LDS and okay, no big. Still not enough to get me to spring for romantic suspense, but then I found this <span style=\"text-decoration: line-through;\">comment (#2) on this review<\/span> [dead link] and I went, oh, hey! Sister Novak, you naughty naughty woman you. I would so be your <a href=\"http:\/\/www.mormonwiki.com\/Visiting_Teaching\">visiting teaching companion<\/a>.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>We\u2019ve got Mrs. Giggles, whom I have referenced before.
