For those of you who don\u2019t know (maybe don\u2019t even care), this is a good explanation: <a title=\"Getting Facebook Slapped\" href=\"http:\/\/www.commdiginews.com\/business-2\/getting-facebook-slapped-understanding-facebooks-big-lie-13747\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Getting Facebook Slapped: Understanding Facebook\u2019s Big Lie<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Pertinent points:<!--more--><\/p>\n<ul class=\"post\">\n<li class=\"post\">FB uses the data its users provide and have been providing for 10 years to advertise to you. But there ain\u2019t no such thing as a free lunch, so they get what they deserve\u2014ads.<\/li>\n<li class=\"post\">On the other hand, users have been providing free labor to collect the data for other purposes. FB users perform very valuable work for free.<\/li>\n<li class=\"post\">FB\u2019s raison d\u2019\u00eatre was to allow users to \u201c<strong>Connect with Your Friends \u2022 Discover and Learn \u2022 Express Yourself \u2022 Control What You Share \u2022 Stay Connected with Your Friends on Mobile Devices<\/strong>\u201d except \u2026 now you can\u2019t. Because it won\u2019t let you.<\/li>\n<li class=\"post\">The users who built the database, collected the followers, followed the brands, participated in the community, are being stabbed in the back. It happened overnight. One day you reached all the people who opted in to see your page. The next day, you didn\u2019t.<\/li>\n<li class=\"post\">Unless you pay to boost your posts. Except \u2026 you don\u2019t know if FB is lying to you or not because there is no third-party verification of stats. Except \u2026 it\u2019s the work the FB users did. FB users are expected not only to build the database, but to PAY to use it.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>My personal experience is the same, but what keeps my rage fueled are the DAILY emails from FB reminding me to post on my page. Really?<\/p>\n<p>I am not posting on my page anymore and this is why: Nobody sees it. Not even the people who requested to. Yet FB wants me to continue to support my brand on FB by nagging me to do it.<\/p>\n<p>No.<\/p>\n<p>For a moment, Facebook was the only good game in town, which was why many of us were stuck here.
