It was a magnificent treat. For the most part, I still keep that because, well, it\u2019s loaded with sugar and, wow, I could drink a quart of it every day.<\/p>\n<p>Anyway, I had it for my wedding reception and <a href=\"http:\/\/moriahjovan.com\/talesofdunham\/blog\/buy-a-saddle\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Dragon Lady<\/a> told me later it was the best punch she\u2019d ever had with another sweet (cake, etc.) because it didn\u2019t clash and\/or leave an aftertaste. Now, I don\u2019t know how much that had to do with the punch as much as it had to do with the fact that I wanted vanilla <em>and<\/em> almond flavoring in my cake icing, but she loved it so much she got her niece to serve it at her wedding reception, where, apparently, it went just as well.<\/p>\n<p>The secret is in the vanilla-and-almond combination.<\/p>\n<div class=\"indent\">\n10 cups water<br \/>\n1 tsp almond flavoring<br \/>\n1 tsp vanilla flavoring<br \/>\n1 cup <a href=\"https:\/\/www.realemon.ca\/en\/products\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">ReaLemon<\/a> juice<br \/>\n2 cups sugar<br \/>\n6 oz orange juice, thawed<br \/>&#160;<br \/>Mix well.<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I grew up with this being served only on Christmas Eve and New Year\u2019s Eve.
