It\u2019s called \u201cprofit.\u201d There is overhead<\/em><\/a>. There are COGS<\/em><\/a>. There is revenue<\/em><\/a>.<\/p>\n Why? Self-publishers manufacture<\/em><\/a> a product;1<\/a><\/sup> they have not licensed<\/em><\/a> a product.<\/p>\n There are no royalties.<\/p>\n Royalties do not exist.<\/p>\n Say it with me now: Self-publishers do not earn royalties; they have profit. Now put all that \u201croyalties\u201d BS out of your head.<\/p>\n And Amazon? I know you know this, but you use the term deliberately to blur the lines between your retail business and your POD service. You know very good and well you don\u2019t pay royalties. You give us a rebate on our rental fee for your stalls, you know, like at a flea market.<\/p>\n
