I never read past book 1. I read it *for* Magdalene but now I don’t remember why. I do remember Angelique’s reaction to that last sex scene (the one not with her husband) and thought, “Now, that’s interesting. Haven’t read a romance-ish book with a twist like that since the 70s.” They were a little more enlightened back then.

I ought to get book 2.

Missing number nine, which I ordered, but which research revealed. Sadly, when Serge Golon dies a lot of the joy went out of the books.
