I lost a friend today.

Miscellaneous Add comments

And I don’t even know why.

I don’t differentiate my real life friends and my online friends.  People become important to me for different reasons. This person was important to me in a lot of ways.

Happy new year.

So sorry to hear that Mojo. At the risk of sounding sappy, a new year will offer opportunities to meet new folks and make new friends.Hang in there.

    Oh. I’m sorry you’re sad.
Virtual hugs, from a friend (virtual or otherwise).

I’m sorry, too. You are a special person and I hope you realize that another person’s opinion doesn’t make you any less special.

    Gee, I hope it wasn’t me. :P

(Oh. Levity doesn’t help, does it?)

Is the person younger? My impression — having been “lost” on purpose by a dear friend considerably younger than me — is that people have to be a bit older (30s, pref. 40s) before it dawns on them that friends are not fungible. Each one is unique, and you’ll never have that friend again, ever.

Interestingly, now that my erstwhile friend is nearly 40, we’ve reconnected.

In any event, it sucks, and I’m sorry.

What kind of a friend dumps a friend without even letting them know why? That really does suck. I’m mad at your former friend even though I don’t know who it is. That’s just wrong, and you don’t deserve it. Some people just don’t really know what it means to be a friend.

    I love you friend, and you will never lose me even if you try to. {{MoJo}}

And I’m going to read Stay even BEFORE I read the new Stephen King. I promise. So there.

Dude is sad at MoJo’s loss of friend.

Dude is reading Stephen King’s Under The Dome. Very good. Of course, Dude read Stay before it’s release.

Thank you so much, everybody. Last night, I spent a few hours spent making something pretty (which always makes me feel better), then I had a good night’s sleep and I realized it’s that person’s problem, not mine. It was wonderful while it lasted.

    So today, I’m good.
